Our Members
Our Membership of approximately 375 accounting firms across Australia, are predominantly ICAA or CPA practices. Our largest Member is a thirteen partner practice, whilst the smallest is a sole practitioner ... and there’s pretty much everyone in between.
Generally, Count Members have a focus towards servicing small-to-medium
enterprises / business clients and most have a growing list of SMSF
clients. Typically, Member’s clients come from a wide cross-section
of industries, occupations and backgrounds.
One of the notable characteristics of Count Member practices is the
long standing relationships they have with their clients. For many
practices, to have second and even third-generation clients is not
uncommon. Further to this point, some of the firms that are part of
the Count membership have in fact been in business over 100 years – no
small achievement!
In terms of resources, some Members have dedicated financial planning
teams often driven by an accounting partner or senior accountant who
has decided to focus on financial planning. The teams themselves might
consist of multiple advisers, para-planners, risk specialists, finance
specialists and admin staff. Alternatively, we have some firms where
accountants within firms are also authorised representatives, and they
wear ‘two hats’ when seeing clients – an accountant
and an adviser – typically these firms will also have suitable
admin staff to support their business model.
